why bother with stairs...

When you can take the slide instead? Embrace your inner child and install a slide!

Or for an even faster escape- take the Pole!
This Boston area loft is a converted firehouse- it underwent a major overhaul but the pole stayed-and in the office no less!

So which one would you choose???

someone was lazy....

I was scrolling through one of my tried and true favorites for good basics and stumbled across this press release that is predated and posted to their website already...apparently the web crew over at Kravet is planning on taking Monday off like the Federal Government:
New York, February 21, 2011- Kravet announced Monday the introduction of a new collection from its upscale line of couture quality fabrics. The collection, called Modern Colors, is made up of bold, sophisticated fabrics with a modern twist.
Available in a range of bright, fresh colors and patterns, these fabrics are perfect for any interior décor style. The collection mixes embroidery, silks, velvets, leathers, linens and textures in modern hues of purple, aqua, chartreuse and coral.
Kravet Couture fabrics, inspired by the designs and styles of the haute couture fashion houses, translate the world's most luxurious fabrics and textures into upholstery, drapery, bed coverings, accessories, pillows, headboards and more.
The Modern Colors collection is the latest example of the quality and craftsmanship of Kravet Couture fabrics

Now I know that press releases are written in advance I was just tickled to see that it is already on the website and well...Monday hasn't happened yet! But regardless I am so excited about the looks of this new collection- finally some great color, texture and pattern from an affordable resource!

I can't believe I am going to say this...

Pottery Barn has come out with the most brilliant product...I was flipping through the new Bed and Bath issue that came in the mail and taadaa...

The "vintage" shoe ladder!
Designed to hold 11 pairs of heels I have started designing my new shoe room...
I shall start with the Lena Chandelier by Crystorama to off-set the contrived antique-esq feel of the ladders and some some sparkle but really let the shoes be the stars
And then add in a comfortable place to pull on my shoes, like the Montmorenci Window Seat by Hickory Chair- an all time favorite of mine
But in an updated fabric and finish with contrasting pillows..thinking cerused walnut for the legs so they ladders don't seem so silly in that worn finish...

So for my first ladder or 11...
